Education and Continuing Education
Dr. Shreyas I. Patel completed dental school, graduating with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, from SUNY Buffalo School of Dentistry in 2005. His dental residency took place at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center from 2005 to 2006. Dr. Patel constantly takes continuing education courses to keep up with the ever-changing world of dentistry. He has studied dental implants, laser dentistry, CEREC® single-visit crowns, and many other restorative dental techniques to provide the most complete dental care to his patients.

In addition to actively continuing his education, Dr. Patel stays involved with the greater dental community as a whole through memberships with numerous professional organizations, including the:

- Onondaga County Dental Society
Outside the Office
Dr. Patel was born in Windsor, Ontario, and grew up in the Midwest before settling in Syracuse, NY. His wife, Sonal, is a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. They have been married for three years and look forward to starting a family soon. They currently live in downtown Syracuse with their Shetland Sheep dog, Carter, who is two years old and keeps them very busy. In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, watching and playing golf, football, baseball, and college basketball, and reading anything he can get his hands on.
Dr. Patel volunteers his time as an attending at St Joseph’s Hospital Dental Clinic once a month. He also has been active with the local Hindu community the last couple of years in a health fair where he does basic exams and lectures on the importance of good oral health.
